The Challenge:

To repair a leak in the Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) lines onboard the MV Mahimahi. The Leak was in a very confined area where time constraints in port were critical to meet schedule.

The Solution:

The Port Engineer contacted HydraTech Engineered Products and requested the Marine HydraWrap. The Marine HydraWrap is Design Approved by the American Bureau of Shipping for shipboard piping repairs. The Marine Acid repair kit was selected as it has superior resistance to fuel oil and was immediately shipped to the installer.

During routine cargo operations, the surface was prepared and Marine HydraWrap was applied according to the directions. The repair took an hour to perform and was successful in eliminating leakage during fueling operations.
