Lee Station requested repair to a 3 foot by 6 foot concrete tunnel joint that was identified as leaking. Engineers walked down the project, reviewed drawings and system operating parameters and provided an engineered solution. This solution utilized the HydraWrap Carbon Reinforced Polymer System.
The joint was cleaned, prepared and the HydraWrap System applied per procedure. The system provided a barrier to contain water within the tunnel during plant operation and prevent leakage and further erosion to the joint and surrounding area.
The crew and all materials entered through an existing manhole and were able to complete the system installation within the work window provided by the station.
